Hi! I’m Amanda Stabenow M.Ed:)
Hi! I’m Amanda—the educator behind Ponderosa Pine Literacy 🌲
I hold a Master’s degree in Elementary Education with a reading emphasis and have spent years teaching and supporting learners across elementary grade levels. My passion lies in helping students truly understand how reading works through clear, structured, and multisensory instruction rooted in the Science of Reading.
I started Ponderosa Pine Literacy after seeing too many capable learners struggle—not because they weren’t smart, but because they hadn’t been given the right tools. I wanted to create a space where families, homeschoolers, and educators could access practical, effective literacy support without overwhelm, guesswork, or one-size-fits-all solutions.
When I’m not teaching or creating literacy resources, you’ll usually find me watercolor painting, making jewelry, sewing, or crocheting—anything creative makes my heart happy. I love mountain biking and hiking with my husband and son, and spending time outdoors whenever possible. At home, I’m kept busy (and entertained) by our donkeys and a very opinionated pug.
At the heart of everything I do is a simple goal: to make learning to read accessible, empowering, and joyful—for kids and the adults who support them..
